Freezing the harddisk helped. i wrapped my hdd in an old tshirt and placed it in the freezer for 5 mins. Then leave it to cool for a while before plugging it in in my office’s desktop. It worked for a while. i manage to see my files again and copy some out. but after some time it completely died. :(

500gb worth of data is a pain to lose. Especially most are my work files and pictures.

I dont mind losing my OTH, Scrubs and Ally McBeal series… (T_____________T) but the rest are dead important. Data recovery services are too expensive and some software’s credibility cant exactly be trusted. :( . sigh.

This is how i looked at my hdd earlier when it completely and officially died moments ago. :(

i wonder whether chucking it in the freezer would work the second time.

a word of advice to everyone :: BACKUP your important data!

    make sure u put it in naked! (no casing wadsoeva, just the disk)..

    best in a container dats dry or something coz u dun wan water hitting it…or its sure a gonner…shud be able to last for a maximum 2 hours to copy ur stuff…

    max 2 hours la but hu noes bout ur luck? LOL..

    worth the try isnt it?

        i was in dat stage b4.. my friend actually downloaded a mac’s freeware on9.. its call FileSalvage.. but not all data manage to backup.. only certain dats not completely spoil will manage to get back la..
