wheel spacers.

I’ve got positive and negative remarks on using wheel spacers. I’ve got a perhaps 5mm-8mm spacers on my rear wheels. Some of them neorians were saying it was a bad choice (due to experience) and knowing myself; accident-prone and unlucky 99% of the time.. im wondering whether should i remove it or not.

Although i actually do like the wider stability of the car, the more drag car look, more ganas having the rear wheels a little out.. etc lazy to put into detail..

but i’m also constantly driving fast when i have the chance to and love corners… touges … etc u get the drift

but am also concerned on safety measures.. long term maintainence, afraid bearing rosak, lug nuts kantoi canot screw back, wheel cabut, etc etc etc  ..

so car enthusiasts out there.. let me know if you have any ideas.. experience etc.. whether it’s a good move or not to place them spacers on my rear.

***

the drive up kuala kelawang. I missed the chance to go there yesterday.. but hopefully i get to drive on this road one day. Apparently its very dangerous and have to be extra careful etc..  but these kinda challenges makes me even more semangat to drive.

I love the genting sempah route. It’s scary to drive there at night because of the.. “possibility” or seeing things that you dont wanna see, but at the same time it’s really challenging to go through those blinding corners in the dark without knowing whats ahead unless if you’ve driven on that route like 100 times. but still..

i love the very feeling of neos park side by side with each other. It makes me know that im not alone out there.. not the only one loving my ride; satria neo. :D. But then again, it’s only a car. I have to put that in my head everytime because of past incidents.

anyhoos.

here are some of my next few plans for my car. :)

1. spoilers. i dont know about others but since young.. i love the idea of spoilers. the more ridiculous it is.. the more ganas and crazy it makes the car look. But for my ride.. i like the desire spoiler spotted on Proton showrooms which is a little more ganas than the r3 ones. The r3 ones were quite plain i think. and too many neos are using it already anyway. not special.

2. front splitters.

Am only going for aesthetic rather than performance for now in order not to void any warranty from Proton, you know how it goes with them. bleh.

alrighty. too much crap on a monday morning. laters.

u guys saw an old lady walking on the road while i didn’t see anything at genting sempah la… freaks me out leh…

regarding the wheel spacer, ayam ones would cost you around 100 bucks while the good ones may cost you around 3-400 per pair. even the good ones have their own studs to lock the rims to the spacers. u may compare both items through the links below ;)

if you love corners, consider changing better suspensions and tires. There isn’t much need to space your wheels since you don’t have a widebody kit. Lower your car. Get better rims as lousy ones will go out of shape if given some punishment

You might not need spoiler as you are still a stock NEO. Unless you are tuned and can go rather fast then the spoiler is needed to stablize you tail. Splitters may giv better aero characteristics but again, your NEO may not even go fast enough to show.

So, the package for a corner loving person is, good tires, suspensions, lower your car a wee bit, and good brakes.

I really don’t think spacer is any good idea.

Get lower profile tires if you can ignore cabin noise and want performance. Bridgestones has a good variety of choice. Never get tires that are too fat as they won’t fit NEO’s specs. Best just inch up the diameter, lower profile tires will do.

Better brakes is most essential. Braking system as well. ABS is so important in corners. Make sure you have them.

It all sounds expensive but this is how it is. One at a time.

And to make it even perfect, discard any sub-woofer or heavy audio stuff. It jeopardizes the handling characteristics thanks to the extra weight.

So choose, performance or audio. Never integrate them. Costs you a bomb and no point. More weight = more fuel consumption. More power = more fuel consumption. More weight + more power = Fuel gulper.

      I just love corners too.
